The School of Behavioural and Health Sciences offers a range of dynamic and exciting undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Biomedical Science, Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Nutrition Science and Psychology including, at the undergraduate level, a number of double degree options with teaching, public health and business management.
Many of the School’s staff are practitioners and clinicians who are actively involved in professional associations and community service: our psychology academics have extensive expertise in professional practice which supports the training of students in postgraduate programs. Our Science academics are active researchers many of whom have won awards for teaching excellence. Our exercise science staff are committed to continually developing unique community engagement programs that use sport and exercise as a vehicle to support wellbeing and bring together communities. Of particular note is the Future in Youth program which takes place in East Timor annually as well as a range of local programs supporting local schools and disadvantaged communities in the vicinity of the University.
Our degrees develop skills in analysis and problem solving, content specific knowledge and evidence-based decision making. The practical nature of our degrees and our extensive partner network give students the opportunity to engage with relevant industry and community partners as well as providing opportunities for community-based experience locally, nationally and overseas.
ACU ranked 38th in the world in CEOWORLD Magazine, 'World’s top universities for sport science in 2016'.
