ACU has ranked number one in the world for research quality in psychology in the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject.
ACU also ranked in the top ten globally and number one in Australia for research quality in education.
The Times Higher Education (THE) annual subject rankings cover 11 subject areas and assess them using a range of performance metrics, including research and teaching.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) Professor Abid Khan said the results confirmed the global impact of the research carried out at ACU.
“The Times Higher Education 2026 World University subject rankings confirm ACU’s reputation for excellence in research across health and education,” Professor Khan said.
“This result reflects the fantastic work of our academics and the university’s commitment to research of the highest quality aimed at making real impact, applying new knowledge to helping address the most significant challenges facing society.”
This follows an outstanding result in the 2026 Times Higher Education University Rankings, with ACU taking out the top spot in Australia for research quality for the third year in a row.
These milestone results highlight ACU’s growing influence and reputation in the international research community.
