A raft of new scholarships is making international study more accessible than ever, helping students from developing countries achieve their dream of study abroad and attracting the best and brightest students from around the world.
ACU has launched four international scholarships that will take the financial pressure off international students who want to pursue their studies at the university.
ACU Provost and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Julie Cogin said the scholarships reflected ACU’s commitment to academic excellence, equity and global impact.
“We want talented students, regardless of where they come from or their financial means, to be able to access quality education,” Professor Cogin said.
“This commitment reflects the Catholic mission to uphold human dignity, promote social justice, and support the formation of the whole person.
“By removing the financial barriers, we’re offering students a life-changing opportunity and investing in future leaders who will make a difference in their communities and beyond.”
Professor Cogin said international students enriched ACU’s campuses, bringing diverse perspectives and experiences.
“When students from different backgrounds study together, it strengthens the learning experience for everyone,” Professor Cogin said.
“These scholarships aren’t just about supporting individual students; they’re about building a truly global community of learning at ACU.”
The Executive Dean’s International Scholarship and Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Excellence Scholarship are designed to help academically outstanding students pursue their studies at ACU.
The Executive Dean International Scholarship offers up to 20 per cent off annual tuition, while the PhD Excellence Scholarship features a 100 per cent tuition waver, an annual stipend and generous allowances for health cover and relocation.
There are also new scholarships that will help students from developing nations achieve their dream of studying abroad.
The Flourishing Lives International Scholarship guarantees a 20 per cent tuition fee reduction for students from Latin America, the Pacific Islands and Timor Leste.
The International Launch scholarship gives international students the opportunity to enrol in cutting-edge degrees at ACU, including the new Computer and Data Science program.
Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global and Education Pathways) Bronwyn Bartsch said these scholarships would help students who may not otherwise have a chance to pursue international study.
“Students from developing nations often face unique challenges in accessing higher education abroad,” Ms Bartsch said.
“These scholarships reflect ACU’s mission, ensuring that talent and potential are what matter most, not financial means.”
