Get the credit you deserve. Save time and money by checking if your previous work experience or study can be credited towards your ACU degree.
Credited units replace units you would otherwise study, so you can finish your course sooner.
If you have already studied at university level or have significant relevant work experience, you might be eligible to have your prior learning recognised.
Prior learning may include:
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is the assessment process for matching an applicant’s skills, knowledge and/or experiences to specific requirements.
These requirements can include:
Prior learning can be taken into account when you are applying for a place in a course. Or, you might be able to apply for credit towards your current ACU degree (sometimes known as advanced standing). Credited units replace units you would otherwise study, so you can finish your course sooner.
We have a large number of partnership agreements with TAFE, ACU College and other private education providers that allow you to get a head start on a related ACU degree.
If your previous education provider is part of these agreements, you may be eligible for guaranteed entry and/or credit for your completed VET studies. To check your eligibility for articulation to ACU, you can search our Articulation Database or contact the Course Coordinator of your preferred ACU degree.
Once you have accepted your offer and enrolled, you can apply for credit by submitting our application form with your supporting documents.
You will need to provide certified copies of key documents, such as transcripts of previous study, with your application.
A certified copy is a copy (often a photocopy) that has been endorsed or certified as a true copy of the original document.
If you provide uncertified copies (such as a photo from your phone), your application is likely to be delayed.
And please don’t supply original documents as they will not be returned to you.
As well as a certified copy of your transcript, you will also need to provide detailed unit outlines of any units studied at another institution, unless you are applying under an articulation agreement.
Lodge your completed form along with your supporting documentation to your ACU School Office for assessment.
Submit your application as soon as you can to allow time for processing before teaching starts.
