ACU ranked number one in Australia for research quality for fourth consecutive year

ACU has taken out the top spot in Australia for research quality for the fourth year in a row in the Times Higher Education 2027 World University Rankings.

ACU was ranked number 20 globally for research quality keeping the university in the world's top 20.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings assess 2,297 universities from 118 countries and territories.

ACU Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise) Professor Abid Khan said this milestone highlights the university's growing influence and reputation in the international research community.

“We’re delighted to see our research once again recognised on the world stage,” Professor Khan said.

“More than just a measure of excellence, it affirms the quality of the work across our university underpinned by our commitment to research that helps people and communities to flourish.

“This recognition celebrates the people behind our research, our staff and students and the partners we work with. They are asking important questions, challenging what we know and finding new ways to make a difference.”

The ranking follows ACU’s student experience ratings of above 80 per cent in the 2025 QILT Student Experience Survey results.

ACU undergraduate students rated the university above 80 per cent for the quality of overall educational experience, placing ACU in the top ten universities nationwide.

Postgraduate student experience ratings also reached a record high, putting ACU above the national average.
