Professor Michael ChampionWelcome to the Institute for Religion and Critical Inquiry

The IRCI is a vibrant and globally connected Research Institute with expertise spanning religion, theology, and philosophy, classics, history, and literature. I invite you to visit our Research Programs to learn more about our world-leading research.

Established international research collaborations enrich our research environment through symposia, collaborative grants, and research supervision. We offer joint PhD degrees with leading international universities, and we are a member of the International Contemporary Humanism PhD Program and Research Network. Our students publish cutting-edge research and have won research prizes and fellowships. We support PhD students with scholarships and a wholistic program of research support. Prospective students are warmly invited to study with us.

Our research projects are closely engaged with our diverse communities of interest. We partner with church groups, cultural and arts institutions, and education, health, and policy sectors to benefit society. We welcome new opportunities to work with others to make a positive difference.

There are multiple ways to connect with our research. Our researchers are keen to engage with you and discuss how their innovative research advances scholarly conversations with social impact. Hybrid seminars and public events involve local and international audiences. Rome Seminars Seminars gather leading experts from around the world to engage in innovative research, enrich postgraduate research experience, and promote the fruitful exchange of ideas.

I encourage you explore our activities through this website and to contact us to discuss collaborations, future study, supporting our projects and research students, or involvement in our research events.
