ACU is monitoring the situation closely and keeps informed with the impacts of government decisions about policy and healthcare. ACU’s Critical Incident Management Policy has guided its approach to managing and recovering from COVID-19 impacts. The Chief Operating Officer, as ACU’s Critical Incident Convenor, has oversight of the university’s response.
We are communicating regularly with our community – both locally and internationally – through emails, phone support, social media and this website as the situation unfolds.
Along with following advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia’s Chief Medical Officer, State Premiers and Territory Chief Ministers, State and Territory Health departments/public health orders, we’re working closely with Universities Australia, and have developed a pandemic plan.
ACU’s recovery is well underway. In line with public health measures, ACU plans to have approximately 75% of classes available on campus, with options for online and hybrid classes off-campus from Semester 1, 2022.
ACU has developed a safety plan for each of our campuses in accordance with regulations from the Queensland, NSW, ACT and Victorian governments. Please check the Victorian COVID Safe Plan for Melbourne (PDF, 208KB) and Ballarat (PDF, 207KB), NSW COVID Safe Plan (PDF, 259KB), the QLD COVID Safe Plan (PDF, 694KB), ACT COVID Safe Plan (PDF, 2MB) and the Covid Safety Plan for Mother Teresa Building construction, ACU Melbourne (PDF, 4.4MB).
The university has developed a COVID-19 Protocol for reporting and dealing with confirmed COVID-19 cases amongst staff, students and visitors. To help staff, students and visitors identify whether they need to report, the university has developed a self-assessment guide. If you are in self-isolation and have tested positive (via PCR or RAT), please make sure you fill in the ACU reporting form for staff or the ACU reporting form for students.
