Professor David Smith is Professor and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Law and Business at ACU. Immediately prior to taking on this role, David was Dean of the School of Accounting, Information Systems and Supply Chain at RMIT University. He previously held professorial appointments at the University of Queensland and Monash University. David is an internationally-recognised researcher in the field of management accounting, where he has published widely in leading accounting journals, and is an Editorial Board member of several leading accounting journals. He has received competitive external funding for his research from a variety of sources, including the ARC. He is a former Board member of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) and a former chair of the Chartered institute of Management Accountants Centre of Excellence (Australasia). He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants, Australia and New Zealand.
Professor Tam joins us from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where she was Associate Dean (International) and Professor of Marketing. She brings more than two decades of leadership experience across Australia, the United States and Asia, with an outstanding record in academic leadership, research excellence, curriculum development and international engagement.
At UTS, Professor Tam lead an international portfolio generating more than $100 million annually across more than 100 global markets. She has successfully driven international diversification, developed transnational education partnerships and aligned growth strategies with academic quality and institutional priorities.
Professor Tam has previously held senior leadership roles including Head of Marketing, Head of Postgraduate Studies and Associate Dean (Research), leading academic departments, strengthening research performance, and building academic capability. She is also an active contributor to the higher education sector through leadership roles with the Australian Business Deans Council and the Australia and New Zealand Quality and Accreditation Network.
An accomplished scholar, Professor Tam has published in leading journals including the Journal of Consumer Research and Journal of Marketing.
Dr.Gamage completed his PhD at La Trobe University, Master of Commerce degree (Accounting) at the University of Melbourne and the Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Education at Victoria University. Since commencing at ACU, Pandula has provided and continues to provide productive and sustained leadership in a range of areas. He has taught extensively in international programs including China, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. Dr Gamage also engages in high-impact research publishing in prestigious journals and received research grants linked with national professional accounting and finance associations. Prior to commencing his academic career, Pandula held managerial roles in the industry. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
