Public Engagement
- Contributed to changes to international work health and safety standards GRI-403 (2018):
- Submissions made to Global Report Initiatives (GRI) for Sustainability, Amsterdam for revising international standards (GRI 403) on occupational health through International public consultations. My submission was based on my research publications on sustainable HRM in which I indicated the need for providing an explanation for leading indicators of occupational health in the GRI 403 standards. I also emphasized in the submission that the explanations for leading indicators for occupational health standards will engage large corporations to develop management practices that can prevent and improve the occupational health of employees and to disclose this in their GRI reports. The Global Sustainability Standards Board accepted my submission and incorporated it in the final published standards.
- Media engagement based on my research on Sustainable HRM to communicate research findings:
- Expert live Interview - ABC Radio National - "Life matters" program - "Is it time organisations took responsibility for overworked employees?" 5th April 2019, National audience.
- Research cited in The New Daily Newspaper article on "Treating your weekend like a holiday: Tips for overworked Australians", 4th April 2019, National audience.
- Research cited in "In the Black" magazine article on "Burnout - and prevention as a shared responsibility between employee and employer". 1st December 2019. Australia’s flagship publication by the Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) Australia.
