If you haven't got an ATAR, or your ATAR isn't what you were hoping for, don't stress – our Foundation Studies program provides you with another path into university. Develop the skills and confidence to thrive at university and gain guaranteed entry in to a range of ACU undergraduate degrees. This fee-free program will prepare you for study at ACU by immersing you in university life while introducing you to a range of foundation units.

Pathways to further study

Foundation Studies is a pathway to a range of ACU undergraduate degrees. While this program is currently only offered at our Blacktown Campus, it will act as a pathway to eligible degrees at any of our Sydney campuses.

The eligible degrees offered at our Blacktown Campus include:

  • Bachelor of Commerce
  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Birth to Five Years)
  • Bachelor of Educational Studies
  • Bachelor of Arts
  • Bachelor of High Performance Sport
  • Bachelor of Laws

Entry requirements

To apply for this program for 2021, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older (by 31 March 2021).
  • Not have achieved an adequate Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or equivalent for entry to ACU.
  • Not have completed other eligible qualifications that meet the minimum entry requirements for entry to ACU.

All ACU students are subject to the Policy on Admission to Coursework Programs Policy which includes English language proficiency for all applicants.

Course structure

The course is offered over three 10-week terms. Each term is followed by an exam week and a break week. You will have 22–25 hours of scheduled class per week, which is a total of 720 hours over 30 weeks.
