Professor Richard M Ryan is a widely published researcher and theorist in human motivation and well-being with over 300 published empirical articles, chapters, and books. He is co-developer of Self-Determination Theory, an internationally researched theory of human motivation and personality development. Professor Ryan has been a Visiting Professor at the Max Planck Institute, the University of Bath, and the National Institute of Education, Singapore. He is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, as well as a motivation consultant.
