The informatics minor is part of our information technology (IT) suite of programs. If IT is your passion you can investigate our Bachelor of Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology/ Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Information Technology options available on our North Sydney Campus.

Staff profile Haifeng Shen

Dr Haifeng Shen

Associate Professor of Information Technology, Peter Faber Business School

Before joining ACU, Dr Shen had lectured at Flinders University and was system administrator and programmer before becoming an academic. His primary research expertise is in the interdisciplinary field of human-centred software and systems.

He develops and studies intelligent human-centred collaborative and social software and systems across a variety of platforms for people to share, communicate, interact, and collaborate. Dr Shen has published more than 110 research papers for international conferences and journals. Dr Shen also has over six years working experience in industry as a software engineer.

Dr Walayat Hussain

Discipline Leader of Information Technology, Peter Faber Business School

Dr Walayat Hussain is currently the Head of the Discipline of Information Technology at Peter Faber Business School, Australian Catholic University, Australia. He has an academic and industry experience of more than 17 years. Before joining the ACU, he was a Lecturer at Victoria University Melbourne, Lecturer and a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney for seven years. He worked as an Assistant Professor and postgraduate program coordinator at the department of Computer Science at BUITEMS University for many years. He holds a PhD, Master, Postgraduate Diploma, and Bachelor's (Hons.) degrees in Computing and Information Systems from the UTS, AIT, BUITEMS, and Hamdard University.
