Find out if you can apply for a full or partial refund of your international fees. Our fee refund policy applies to you if you're an international student commencing your ACU studies up to, and including, the first semester of your highest-level course.

If you accept an offer of placement, but later inform ACU of an intention to withdraw or transfer to a lower-level course, ACU will provide a partial refund but will retain a percentage of the semester fee.

This cancellation fee is determined by the amount of notice given:

  • You withdraw from your course, for whatever reason, after the fourth teaching week of the course.

Refund processes

Refund timeframe

If you are eligible for a refund and you withdrew from your program, your refund will be processed within four weeks of ACU receiving your written refund request

Receiving your refund

Refunds will be made in Australian dollars and the University reserves the right to make refunds payable in the country of origin.

Refund payments will be refunded to the originating payment source. Agency fees, if applicable, will not be refunded.

Appeals and disputes

If you are not satisfied with the decision relating to your refund, you can appeal in writing to the Pro Vice-Chancellor, International.

This agreement, and the availability of complaints and appeals processes, does not remove your right to take action under Australia’s consumer protection laws.

ACU’s dispute resolution processes do not circumscribe the student’s right to pursue other legal remedies.
