Dr. Hye-Ryen Jang is interested in supporting student motivation and implementing teacher autonomy support for students' thriving and well-being, both academically and socially. To do so, she primarily focuses on teachers' goals for students as a critical factor in utilizing autonomy support. She also investigates students' engagement, basic needs, and bullying victimization. She utilizes various research designs such as longitudinal, lab-experimental, and intervention studies. Most her research is published in top-tier journals in education and psychology, and the average journal impact factor of her publications is IF = 6.75.
