Overview

Explore primary health care, growth and development and care of the hospitalised child. The focus in the neonatal specialisation is on the child and family at risk with an important look at lifestyle and environment. You will closely examine embryology and foetal development as well as birth and adaption to extra-uterine life. The modules explore the myths associated with pain sensations in the neonate and developmental care. Module content also includes, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, neurodevelopmental conditions, abnormalities of the gastrointestinal tract, advanced respiratory issues, advanced cardiovascular issues and issues associated with the very low birth weight neonate.
