Open Day isn’t about us, it’s about you. That’s what makes it special – it’s everything you need, in one place, to make your decision. Here are six things we think you should do to make the most of it:
1. Check out the giant pop-up book
The 2.5-metre-tall installation tells the life-size stories of ACU alumni who have helped grow the world’s first free mobile laundry service for the homeless, tutored young people from refugee backgrounds in inner-city public housing estates, and co-founded a charity organisation in Uganda empowering leaders within the community. Created by internationally celebrated designer James Dive whose previous works include the iconic melted ice cream van Hot With the Chance of a Late Storm, it is not to be missed.
2. Register for perks
Register online to get Open Day updates and go in the draw to win a $5000 study trip to Rome. The prize money can go towards travel expenses such as air fares, accommodation, local transfers, excursions and more.
3. Take a general campus tour
Get an insider’s view on life at ACU by touring the campus with a current student. The guided tours will highlight key locations for students and your guide will share their stories and experiences along the way.
4. Take a facilities tour
Whether you are thinking exercise science, physio, education, health sciences or theology, you can check out the high-tech facilities and equipment used in class during tours led by the students who use all that cool stuff.
5. Visit the student association
Visit the ACU Student Association and discover how they support, represent, and advocate for the student body, as well as coordinate social and recreational activities. You may also be able to nab a free sausage if you are lucky.
6. Chat to current students
Hear firsthand about uni life and get the inside-scoop on studying at ACU. They were in your shoes not so long ago, so the chances are they will have thought about the questions you’re eager to ask.
Remember if you don't get all your questions answered on the Open Day itself, you can still contact ACU at a later date. We would love to hear from you.
