The April forum takes a particular focus on initial teacher education in Queensland HEIs implementing the Graduate Teacher Performance Assessment (GTPA) in their ITE programs.
– The forum commences with a Panel discussion that includes key stakeholders from research, policy and practice. The panellists will draw on their different fields of experience to consider the potential of a teaching performance assessment and what a competence assessment adds to efforts to quality assure graduates as profession ready.
– Experienced teacher educators and recent ITE graduates will show how evidence from the GTPA is being used to develop stronger partnerships, inform program renewal and generate evidence of innovation.
– Researchers will show research currently underway at scale to build an Australian evidence base in ITE.
School partnerships are critical in preparing the next generation of teachers. The contribution of teacher performance assessments to these partnerships will be of high interest to those attending the event.
