Geebung State School is a local primary school including a diversity of young learners and families. Support literacy and learning outcomes by working with students on their reading and homework in class and through add-on support. To support the learning of younger students in Prep and Year 1, one-on-one reading support is conducted each morning across the six classrooms (P-1).
In this support role, ACU students will be expected to assist students in their reading to build literacy and confidence in learning.
The school also supports all students through a Tuesday afternoon Homework Club requiring the support of tutors and mentors to encourage understanding of activities and task completion.
In your Homework and Reading Support role you will be working regularly across school terms with individual students supporting their reading.
You will also provide shared-support to a weekly Homework Club on a Tuesday afternoon.
