Clemente Australia is a strengths-based program that offers a free tertiary humanities education (Certificate of Liberal Arts) to anyone who has been excluded from a university education due to barriers such as mental/physical health, poverty, homelessness, leaving school early, refugee status etc. It is an Australian Catholic University program that is delivered in the community in partnership with Saint Vincent de Paul, Micah Services and Sisters of Mercy. Students are diverse in age, culture, language, ability and are provided with volunteer learning partners who provide assistance with assignments, technology, academic skills and encouragement.

The role

  • Building relationships by conversing with Clemente students and learning partners on arrival and during lunch
  • Setting up morning tea and lunch
  • Helping with any IT concerns students or learning partners may have
  • Following up with students who have not attended
  • Administration support
  • Providing feedback on student assignments
