Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed:

a) a Bachelor degree in a Health or Human Services Discipline;

OR

b) a Bachelor degree in any discipline, plus evidence of two years relevant work experience in mental health

OR

c) have completed the Graduate Certificate in Mental Health from ACU, or equivalent.

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

International students need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the degree of Graduate Diploma in Mental Health, a student must complete the 80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings comprising:

a. For Project Stream:

  1. 40 cp from Specified Mental Health units (Part A)
  2. 40 cp from Project Stream units (Part B)

OR

b. For Research Stream:

  1. 40 cp from Specified Mental Health units (Part A)
  2. 40 cp from Research Stream units (Part C)

Other requirements

Admission into the research stream requires a minimum GPA of 5.0 across a minimum of 60 cp of completed units.

Exit points

A student who has completed the requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Mental Health may exit with the relevant award.

Progression requirements

Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Adviser. In all aspects of progression through this course, students will be advised by the Course Adviser.
