A business is only as good as its employees – and employees only thrive when there’s a good human resources team behind them. This is why human resource management (HRM) plays a critical role in every organisation. As an HRM professional, you’ll work to get the best from your people for the entire employment cycle. It’s a broad field, touching all parts of an organisation. It’s also a rapidly growing profession, with both jobs and income levels forecast to increase in the future. So why not get in on the ground floor?
Study HRM as your major or minor and you’ll be connected with a world of opportunity. You’ll gain valuable professional experience before you join the workforce with an HR-based internship and, if you speak Italian, you could even spend time working in Rome in the Vatican’s HR department. After graduating, you’ll be eligible for graduate membership with the Australian Human Resources Institute, putting you in the driver’s seat for a profession powered by people.
"HR for me felt effortless. I enjoyed what was being taught and I had a natural connection with the HR professionals who were teaching the content. Most importantly I could see myself making a career out of it."
"I attribute everything I have achieved to date to my degree at ACU. Studying at ACU skyrocketed me into the marketplace, at a cut above other graduates because I left with experience having done my professional experience HR internship.
"I still often think back to my tutors and lecturers and thank my lucky stars that I had the opportunity to learn from the best."
