Graduation ceremony fee

The fee to attend a graduation ceremony is $165 (incl GST). This fee includes:

  • Your attendance at the ceremony
  • The cost of your academic dress hire and robing assistance
  • 3 guest tickets (as a graduate, you do not require a ticket)
  • Light refreshments after the ceremony.

The ceremony fee is paid via credit card when you select to attend your ceremony and complete online registration. Ceremony registration deadlines apply. Check the Graduation - Important Dates.

Cancellation fees may apply to graduation and these are outlined in the Graduation Policy.

Guest tickets

Guest tickets are electronic, and each ticket must be registered in the name of the guest attending at least 3 days before your ceremony. Guest tickets will only be emailed once the details of each guest have been submitted. Your registration confirmation email contains a link to register your guest tickets.

Graduation is a ticketed event and any guests without a ticket will not be permitted entry. Tickets will be scanned, and each ticket has a unique barcode that permits only one entry when scanned, so you must ensure that each of your guests (including children) has their own unique ticket. You (the graduate) do not require a guest ticket.

Children above the age of two are required to have a guest ticket and be seated in their own chair.

Ticket limits

A limited number of guest tickets will be allocated to each graduate. The allocation will be informed by capacities at each venue. Tickets must be ordered through the graduation portal when completing registration and the cost is included in the graduation ceremony fee. Further information will be provided to graduates when registration opens.

The availability of additional guest tickets is not guaranteed and strictly limited according to graduate numbers and venue capacity. Where possible, the Graduations Office will make additional guest tickets available for purchase at a cost of $30 per ticket (including GST). For ceremonies where additional guest tickets are available, you will have the option of purchasing them during the registration period through the graduations portal. Additional guest tickets are strictly non-refundable.

The maximum number of tickets available will be displayed to you in the graduations portal. If no additional tickets are displayed, this means that there are no additional guest tickets available for your ceremony. Guests who cannot attend the ceremony can watch the live video stream.

Payment methods

As part of the graduation registration process in Student Connect, students who select to attend their ceremony will be directed to the graduation portal to complete their registration, which includes payment of the ceremony fee and ordering academic dress and guest tickets. All payments must be submitted via credit card.

Cancellation fees

Fees apply to cancellation of graduation attendance and refunds within two weeks of your ceremony will only be granted in extenuating circumstances. These are circumstances that are unforeseen and beyond your control that prevent you from attending your ceremony - for example illness, misfortune or bereavement. You will be asked to provide supporting documents to verify your circumstances. All graduation fees, including cancellation fees are outlined in full in the Graduation Policy.

If you need to cancel your attendance at a ceremony, please email graduation@acu.edu.au.
