Modern psychological interventions are increasingly employing constructs and practices from contemplative traditions to reduce suffering and promote prosocial behaviour. However, without good measures of these constructs it is difficult to assess whether the interventions work as intended.

Having developed and validated a measure of an important construct, ‘nonattachment’ (defined as equanimous, even-handed regard for positive and negative inner experiences), this project includes further validation studies of this construct to examine its role in promoting intergroup harmony and prosocial behaviour in adolescents and adults.
