EFTSL value of units : All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Nursing, an applicant must:

a. have completed a Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent) or higher;

AND

b. hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra);

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

NOTE: Applicants having completed ACU’s Graduate Certificate in Clinical Nursing or Graduate Certificate in Advanced Clinical Nursing will be eligible for recognition of prior learning of up to 40 credit points.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the Graduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Nursing, a student must complete 80 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 50 cp from Specified Units (Part A)
  2. 10 cp from Advanced Clinical Practice Units (Part B)
  3. 10 cp from Advanced Professional Practice Units (Part C)
  • 10 cp from Project Stream Units (Part D) OR 10cp from Research Stream Units (Part E)

Other requirements

If you are considering further study in the Master of Advanced Clinical Nursing, please note that the course offers both a Project Stream and a Research Stream:

  • To progress to the Project Stream in the Master of Advanced Clinical Nursing, you should complete HLSC605 in this Graduate Diploma.
  • To progress to the Research Stream in the Master of Advanced Clinical Nursing, you should complete HLSC642 or HLSC646 in this Graduate Diploma (please discuss with the Course Adviser).

Exit points

To be eligible to exit with a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Clinical Nursing (with a named specialisation), students must complete the relevant clinical units within their chosen specialisation.

Progression requirements

Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Adviser. In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Adviser.
