The Governance Directorate undertakes statutory elections for ACU's Senate and Academic Board as well as for the University's student representative bodies.

The process for conducting elections includes calling for nominations, conducting the necessary electronic ballots and ensuring all votes are counted and results published. Elections are conducted in accordance with Statute 8.1 - Elections to the Senate, Statute 8.2 - Elections to Faculty Boards, Statute 8.3 - Elections to the Academic Board and Statute 9 Campus Organisations.

Senate Statutory Elections are held for both staff and student positions in accordance with Clause 13.2 of the ACU Constitution. The current staff and student Senate members, and their current terms, can be found on the Senate web page.

Academic Statutory Elections are held for staff and student positions in accordance with Clause 1 of Statute 2.5 The Academic Board. The current members of the Academic Board can be found on the Academic Board web page.

Student Association Elections are held for officer positions in the ACU National Student Association (ACUNSA) and the Campus Student Associations in accordance with Statute 9 Student Organisations and the Constitutions of each Campus Student Association.

Academic Board Academic Staff Elections

An election for the appointment of academic staff members of the ACU Academic Board will commence on Wednesday 1 October 2025 with a call for nominations and will close with cessation of voting at 4:00pm AEDT on Wednesday 5 November 2025. This election will be conducted under the provisions of Statute 8.3 - Elections to the Academic Board according to the timeline below.

Election of student members of Senate and Academic Board

These elections will be conducted as required by clause 13.2 of the ACU Constitution, clause 2(p) of Statute 2.5 - The Academic Board, Statute 8.1 - Elections to the Senate, Statute 8.3 - Elections to the Academic Board and the Election Manual according to the timeline below.
