The Market’s Morals: responding to Jesse Norman

In 2018, Dr Jesse Norman MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury in the British government, delivered the PM Glynn Lecture on Religion, Law and Public Life. The Market’s Morals contains this lecture along with a set of essays intended to continue the discussion that the lecture began.

In this volume, essayists, Cris Abbu, Professor Tania Aspland, Michael Casey, David Corbett, Michael Easson, Professor Gregory Melleuish, Professor Adrian Pabst, Parnell Parne McGuinness, Leanne Smith, Marc Stears, Tom Switzer and Amanda Walsh respond to Norman’s lecture. Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP provided the foreword. The collection comprises a number of perspectives on Norman’s central claim that commercial society offers the basis for a more humane form of capitalism and a renewed life in common.

The Market’s Morals was published in 2019 by the Kapunda Press.
