Tools to make a difference

The Kids Central Toolkit aims to provide workers and services with information, resources and tools to use child-centred approaches in their work with children, young people and families.

The Toolkit is based around six key principles that support child-centred practice, and each principle includes a range of tools and resources, which are available to download. ICPS also runs training for workers and services in how to use the Toolkit and develop skills in child-centred practice.

  • About Kids Central: Provides more background information about the Toolkit.
  • Training and Workshops: Provides information about training that can be delivered to services across Australia; and upcoming training in the ACT.
  • Tools and Resources: Provides a number of downloadable resources related to each of the six principles in the Toolkit.

VACCA has redeveloped five tools from the Kids Central Toolkit, Child's Voice', specifically for Aboriginal children, which provides talking tips and guidance for using the tools with Aboriginal children.
