You will develop an understanding of how wellbeing relates to performance and be able to critically analyse, synthesise and apply knowledge using an evidence-informed, person-centred approach for the physiotherapy management of sports injuries or other health conditions. You’ll also learn to enhance sports or exercise performance and wellbeing in athletes and people of all ages, abilities and cultural contexts within the relevant ethical and legal frameworks.
The Master of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy/Master of High Performance Sport double degree is designed for graduate physiotherapists who wish to become sports and exercise physiotherapists and work in high performance sports.
As a graduate, you will have the knowledge and skills to work with athletes and people of all ages, abilities and cultural contexts, in community, elite or high performance sport and exercise settings in the private and public sectors. The course emphasises the application and integration of these knowledge-based and specialised technical skills in an ethical manner that promotes the dignity of the individual, athlete or performer.
This double degree provides the foundation for specialty recognition for physiotherapists to apply for APA Titled Membership in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy and to become members of the Australian College of Physiotherapists.
Join course coordinator Dr Maria Constantinou as she takes you through the Master of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy and the Master of Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy/Master of High Performance Sport, and explains how these courses can help you meet your professional goals.
