The Order of Malta and ACU Community Hub is fostering significant and impactful collaborations with communities in the Darebin LGA (Melbourne).
Originally conceptualised as a 'bricks and mortar' provision, early collaborations with community organisations proposed a mobile hub that is agile to deliver place-based community engagement activities.
As a mobile unit, the community hub connects with community members in the familiar and safe places they gather, where they can encourage honest conversations, and understand community perspectives, needs and aspirations. When invited by communities to assist them in meeting their goals, the community hub garners, coordinates and supports community-engaged partnerships with local organisations, ACU students and volunteers.
In partnership with the Order of Malta Australia.

Through community immersion and outreach, the community hub has developed trusting relationships from which projects have responded to the priorities of the community. Contact us to find out more about our projects.
