International professional and community engagement

We offer eligible education students the opportunity to undertake international professional and community engagement programs in Nepal. You will be immersed in the local culture and form relationships with local students, teachers and other community members. Each program provides a range of cultural and professional activities where you will experience both personal and professional learning.

All programs run in January/February and June/July every year.

Kiribati

Community engagement units are undertaken in one of four high schools (St Patrick College, St Louis High School, Sacred Heart College, and Santa Maria College) located on South Tarawa. ACU Students work with local students and staff as a volunteer in close collaboration with ACU mentors. Helping Kiribati teachers with their English is one of the goals of the program.
