Choose your teaching areas
In this course, you must select two different teaching areas of study that you would like to teach, for example, Mathematics and Chemistry.
You will choose from the available studies in the
Teaching Area List . One from the
Teaching Area 1 group and one from the
Teaching Area 2 group, subject to availability on your campus. If you aren't sure, choose something that you think you might be interested in. You will be allowed to change your teaching area/s over the next 18 months.
When you have selected your two teaching areas, find the relevant units in the
Table of Units. Find
two units for Teaching Area 1 (one in Semester 1 and one in Semester 2) and
one unit for Teaching Area 2 ( in Semester 2). When you have found your three units, write them down so you can easily remember them later.
If you choose Design and Technologies as your teaching area, follow the enrolment plan in the section above for Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Arts (Design Innovation and Technologies) as the first year is the same.
If you choose Physical Education as your first teaching area, you do not choose a second teaching area as you will study additional Physical Education units to meet accreditation requirements. Please follow the enrolment plan in the section above for the Bachelor of Education (Secondary)/Bachelor of Exercise Science as the first year is the same.
