Who can take the test?

International students

If you have applied for a program at ACU, you may sit the ACU English Test to demonstrate your English language proficiency.

Before booking, you should check the required English level for your course.

Domestic students

Domestic students can also take the ACU English Test to meet English language entry requirements.

When registering, you will need to provide the name of the course you have applied for.

Booking information

To register for the ACU English Test, please complete the booking form and ensure you provide accurate course details during registration.

The ACU test costs $200 AUD.

Once your booking and payment are completed, you will receive a confirmation email with the test details and preparation resources.

Please allow approximately 5 hours to complete the test on the date booked.

Test results are released within two weeks of the test date.

Melbourne and North Sydney 2026 test dates:

  • 16 July
  • 23 October

Important notes

The ACU English Test cannot be used in the following cases:

  • Entry into postgraduate Psychology courses
  • Bachelor of Nursing and related double degrees
  • Re-entry into programs after termination
  • Entry after unsuccessful completion of the Tertiary Preparation Program (Health Sciences)
  • Admission to courses at other universities
  • Visa purposes

Please note that refunds are only available under exceptional circumstances.

The ACU English Test may only be attempted twice.
