About religious education

ACU Religious education student holding a prayer book

Become a respected and thoughtful religious education professional. ACU has a proud history as a leading provider of teacher education in Australia, and our Catholic tradition ensures our religious education graduates are highly sought-after. Whether you’re a trained teacher, education administrator, or someone who wants to enter the industry, our programs will prepare you for positions of responsibility in the field of religious education at schools, parishes, education offices, or diocesan-level organisations.

Pick your pathway

If you’ve completed an undergraduate degree in another study area, you could choose to advance your studies further with a masters degree or higher degree research. If you already have a teaching qualification, you can opt for the Graduate Certificate in Religious Education or for the Graduate Certificate in Catholic Studies (for accreditation to teach religious education in Victoria).
