About this scholarship

Established in 2006 to provide financial support for Social Work students, towards the costs of undertaking a rural, regional or international placement.

  • The scholarship is valued at $1,500 to be paid in one lump sum.
  • There is one scholarship available.

This scholarship is open to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:

  • Citizenship: all
  • Target group: students undertaking a rural, regional or international placement
  • Faculty: Health Sciences
  • Course: Bachelor or Master of Social Work
  • Campus: Brisbane, Canberra or Strathfield

Application process

The following documents must be submitted with the application:

  • Academic transcript
  • A written statement of approximately 100 words outlining why you are planning to undertake this placement and what you hope to gain from it.

Selection criteria

  • Applications are assessed based on the strength of the following criteria:
    • Academic merit
    • Written statement
  • Preference will be given to students undertaking a rural or regional placement.

Selection process

The recipients will be selected by the Scholarships Office.

Ongoing requirements

You are requested to submit a letter of appreciation for the donor explaining how the scholarship has assisted you. The letter should be submitted to the Scholarships Office no later than 1 October 2018.
