Did you know your Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification could help guarantee you a place in an ACU degree?
We've partnered with several TAFE and VET providers to give their graduates guaranteed entry into a relevant ACU degree. If you have completed a qualification at one of our partner institutions, you may also be eligible for credit for your prior study which will reduce the length and cost of your degree at ACU.
Check if your VET qualification comes from a partner institution
If your VET provider is not one of our partners, you can still apply through a Tertiary Admission Centre.
As part of the application process, you will be assigned a selection rank – sometimes called an entry score – based on your certificate, diploma or other qualification. Your selection rank is a number between 1 – 99, very similar to a Year 12 student's ATAR. This will be considered by the university when we assess your application.
In the accordions below you’ll find the equivalent selection ranks for VET qualifications in each state.
You’ll still need to meet the selection rank for your specific course and, where applicable, any additional entry requirements, including subject and English language requirements.
Please note: These equivalent ranks are indicative only. They are determined by the TAC in each state and are subject to change. Please direct any questions about your VET equivalent selection rank to your relevant TAC.

Each course on each campus has a minimum selection rank which is used the same way as a minimum ATAR score.
High school students often receive a selection rank based on their ATAR plus adjustments. Students applying with other qualifications, such as VET study, also receive a selection rank based on those results.
You can compare the equivalent selection ranks above to the course and campus cutoffs to see if you’re eligible for your dream degree at ACU.
Find the minimum rank for your course
To find out how to apply for your course, visit the specific course page on the ACU website. Click the ‘Apply’ button at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen – this will tell you whether you should apply directly to ACU or via your state TAC. Check your state TAC deadlines carefully so you don’t miss out.
You’ll need to provide official transcripts or certificates of your completed VET qualification.
If you applied through your state TAC, they will send you an offer if you’re successful. If you applied directly to ACU, we’ll send you your offer.
