Susan Broomhall is Professor of Early Modern Studies in the Institute for Religion and Critical Inquiry and leads the Gender and Women's History Research Centre in the Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences. She is the author of numerous monographs and edited collections. Her current research includes women's activities and the role of gender ideologies in shaping experiences in the Dutch East India Company; the role of gender ideologies in early modern natural resource management and agricultural innovations from the early modern period to modern Australia; women's activities at the Joseon Korean court; and experiences of early modern Catholic and Huguenot welfare support.
