Associate Professor Monica Wong is currently Head of Education NSW. Prior to ACU, she has a background in Information Technology with a Bachelor of Engineering degree. After retraining as a secondary mathematics and computing studies teacher, she has taught in primary and secondary schools. At ACU, Monica has taught mathematics discipline and curriculum units and more recently Educational Assessment. Most recently, as Co-ordinator of Accreditation, Monica works with teacher accreditation and registration authorities to accredit all ACU initial teacher education programs. Her research interests include how students acquire understanding of rational number, improving pathways to teaching for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, increasing parental interest in teaching as a career and quantitative methods and analysis.
