Religious Education Primary as a teaching area prepares future primary teachers to teach Religious Education in Catholic schools and contribute to the mission and identity of Catholic education. Students develop knowledge of Scripture, Catholic beliefs and traditions, Catholic Social Teaching, and age-appropriate approaches to faith formation. The teaching area supports graduates in meeting Catholic accreditation requirements and equips them to teach Religious Education confidently while fostering values of human dignity, justice, compassion and the common good.

Completion requirements
Students in the
- Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary) - 360 cp version and Bachelor of Education (Primary and Secondary) - 360 cp version must complete:
- 40 cp of Religious Education discipline units (Part A)
- 20 cp of Religious Education Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment (CPA) units (Part B)
