The Drama teaching area provides students with a strong foundation in theatrical literature, history, and practical performance. Through a combination of workshops, performances, and applied learning activities, students develop knowledge and skills in areas such as theatre production, stage management, directing, acting, and the study of dramatic texts and traditions.
Study in Drama supports the development of transferable skills including communication, collaboration, creativity, and confident public speaking, which are highly valued in educational and professional contexts. When undertaken as part of an appropriate tertiary teaching qualification, Drama prepares graduates to teach Drama in secondary school settings. No prior theatre experience is required, and there are no prerequisites for introductory Drama studies at ACU.

Students in the
- Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and Bachelor of Education (Primary and Secondary) must complete:
First teaching area:
- 60 cp from Drama Discipline Area units (Part A)
- 20 cp from Drama Undergraduate Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment (CPA) units (Part C.1)

Second teaching area:
- 40 cp from Drama Discipline Area units (Part B)
