EFTSL value of units : All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

Admission requirements

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy .

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Philosophy (Healthcare Ethics), an applicant must have completed an undergraduate degree in any discipline and be either:

a. a graduate with up to three years' professional experience in business or health care (eg doctors, nurse managers, nurses, mission directors, health care administrators, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, members of ethics committees); or

b. a healthcare professional with five or more years relevant experience; or

c. a senior healthcare professional nominated by his or her employer to undertake the course.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the Graduate Certificate in Philosophy (Healthcare Ethics), a student must complete 40 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

a. 10 cp from Core Units (Part A); and

b. 30 cp from Elective Units (Part B).

Progression requirements

Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator. In all aspects of progression through this course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator.
