Additional information

Through the study of a broad range of literary texts and approaches to reading them, the English minor familiarises students with literary traditions and contemporary literary cultures. This major will reveal the varied ways in which people have lived, thought, felt and imagined, opening up new worlds of understanding. Students will develop vital transferrable skills in effective reading, writing, analysis and interpretation that will equip them for rewarding careers in teaching, journalism, the media, and other professions that require articulate and culturally literate graduates.

Completion requirements

A student must complete 40 cp of the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

a. at least 10 cp from 100-level units (Part A);

b. at least 20 cp from 200- and/or 300-level units (Part B).

HUMA332 Arts and Humanities Special Project 10 Restriction requirement for HUMA332. A quota applies to this unit. An application process applies for special projects on offer and academic merit will be considered. The student must have a GPA of at least 5.5 and be undertaking a major taught by the National School of Arts and Humanities (not including Education Studies, Mathematics and Technology). Permission from the National Head of School is required prior to enrolling in this unit.
