EFTSL value of units : All 10 credit point (CP) units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

Admission requirements

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

International students need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

  1. Have completed either:
  2. A Bachelor Degree from an accredited 3-year program in a Health Discipline or equivalent to enter the non-discipline pathway with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.6 on the ACU 7 point scale; or
  3. A Bachelor Degree from an accredited 4-year program in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology or equivalent to enter (Discipline) pathway, with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.6 on the ACU 7 point scale; or
  4. ACU Faculty of Health Sciences Graduate Certificate or equivalent to enter the Non-discipline) pathway
  5. Have a minimum of two years clinical experience in the appropriate discipline.
  6. Be employed in the field unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator.
  7. Demonstrate suitability to undertake the course:
  8. For the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy disciplines, applicants must hold current registration with the discipline specific National Allied Health Registration Board or required Authority in Australia, or Registration Authority in country of current practice,
  9. For the Speech Pathology discipline, applicants must have obtained and maintain eligibility to practice and membership with Speech Pathology Australia, or Registration Authority in country of current practice.

NOTE: Applicants having completed an ACU Graduate Certificate will be eligible for recognition of prior learning of 40 credit points.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the Master of Rehabilitation, a student must complete 120 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings consisting of:

For Discipline Pathway

  1. 20 cp from Specified Units (Part A);
  2. 70 cp from Specialisation units (for discipline/field) (Part B)
  3. 20 cp from Research Units (Part D); and
  4. 10 cp from Ethics Unit (Part E).

NOTE: For Specialisation Pathway at least 50% of all units must have the Discipline code

OR

For Non-discipline Pathway

  1. 20 cp from Specified Units (Part A);
  2. 40 cp Health Units (Part C);
  3. 20 cp from Research Units (Part D);
  4. 10 cp from Ethics Unit (Part E); and
  5. 30 cp from Elective Units (Part F).

Note: Applicants who have completed an ACU Faculty of Health Sciences Graduate Certificate will be eligible for recognition of prior learning of up to 40 credit points.

For Non-discipline ACU OUA Pathway

  1. 20 cp from Specified Units (Part A);
  2. 40 cp Health Units (Part C);
  3. 20 cp from Research Units (Part D);
  4. 10 cp from Ethics Unit (Part E); and
  5. 30 cp from Elective Units (Part F).

NOTE: Applicants having completed an ACU OUA Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation will be eligible for recognition of prior learning of up to 40 credit points.

Exit points

A student who has completed the requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation or the Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation may exit with the relevant award.

Progression requirements

Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator. In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator.
