Minimum duration: 2 years full-time or equivalent part-time.

EFTSL value of units : All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

Admission requirements

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

International applicants need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

a.

i. a Bachelor degree with honours in an accredited psychology course with minimum of IIA Honours completed in the last 10 years; OR

ii. Bachelor degree with accredited four year major study in Psychology completed in the last 10 years;

OR

b.

i. a Bachelor degree with accredited three year major study in psychology and satisfactory completion of an additional year of accredited study in psychology, or equivalent, with an overall mark equivalent to IIA Honours completed in the last 10 years;

OR

ii. qualifications and experience assessed as equivalent by the selection committee;

AND

c. demonstrated suitability to undertake the course as evidenced by satisfactory:

i. academic referee report;

ii. professional referee report; AND

iii. for short-listed candidates, interview with the selection committee;

AND

d. be eligible for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia as a conditional/provisional psychologist.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 160 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 60 cp from Specified Units (Part A);
  2. 40 cp from Practicum Units (Part B);
  3. 30 cp from Thesis Units (Part C); and
  4. 30 cp from Specialisation Units (Part D).

Maximum periods

The maximum duration of candidature will be not more than 5 years part-time from the commencement of enrolment.

Progression requirements

Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator. In all aspects of progress through the course, students will be advised by the Course Coordinator
