EFTSL value of units : All 10 cp units in this course have an EFTSL value of 0.125. Units with a cp value of a multiple of 10 have corresponding EFTSL values.

Admission requirements

An applicant must also comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and 5 years post-graduation full time (or FTE) work experience of which at least 3 years is in a management/leadership role; OR
  2. Graduate certificate in any discipline and a minimum of 5 years full time work experience of which at least 3 years is in a management/leadership role; OR
  3. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management/leadership role outlined in a portfolio demonstrating knowledge, experience, and skills suitable to the level required for participation in the program.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 120 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:

  1. 60 cp from Mandatory Units (Part A)
  2. 20 cp from Specified Units (Part B)
  3. 40 cp from Elective Units (Part C)

Students enrolled in the MBA (Exec) and its constituent Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma may enrol in MBA units provided in the standard delivery mode, but students enrolled in the Standard MBA mode will not automatically be permitted entry to MBA (Exec) classes. Permission to participate in MBA (Exec) classes will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, provided individuals meet the entry requirements of the MBA (Exec).

Exit points

A student who has completed the requirements prescribed for the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (Executive) or the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (Executive) may exit from the course with the relevant award by arrangement with the relevant Course Coordinator.

Other Business/ACU postgraduate units could be undertaken as electives with prior approval of the MBA Director.

Units may be classified as either specified units or business electives depending on course structure approved in negotiation with client/cohort base.

Non-Business Electives

Students may undertake up to four (4) electives outside of the Faculty of Law and Business as long as these electives meet the appropriate AQF level and/or form a discrete course of studies (ie) a Graduate Certificate.

Non-business electives may be credited from both ACU and other recognised tertiary institutions.
