Unit rationale, description and aim

Contemporary teaching and educational decision making should be informed by evidence. Such evidence should be acquired through well planned, systematically conducted and rigorously honest research. This unit introduces you to different approaches and the challenges involved in conducting rigorous educational research specifically related to your research topic. You will be required to develop and defend a research methodology and identify appropriate methods compatible with the theoretical and conceptual frameworks developed in the previous unit. This unit, complemented with support from your supervisor, and drawing on outcomes achieved in previous units enables you to complete your research proposal and proceed to implement your study.
