Admission requirements

An applicant must comply with the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy

International applicants need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have:

  1. completed a Bachelor degree including a major in theology OR a relevant postgraduate qualification in theology, such as the Graduate Certificate in Theological Studies and;
  2. demonstrated suitability to undertake the course, as evidenced by interview.

Completion requirements

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 120 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, including:

  1. 80 cp from Specified Units (Part A);
  2. 30 from Research Units (Part B);
  3. 10 cp from 600-level units from the Unit Schedule for the Master of Theological Studies (Part C).

Exit points

A student who has completed the 80 cp of specified units from the Schedule of Unit Offerings in the Master of Spiritual Direction may exit with a Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Direction.

Progression requirements

Students need to receive a minimum 75% result in both and as part of the course. Students who are unable to gain this result but have successfully completed other units towards the Graduate Diploma in Spiritual Direction may transfer these units to the Graduate Diploma in Theological Studies or the Master of Theological Studies.
