Overview

The Vocational Studies teaching area prepares preservice teachers to deliver practical, applied learning that connects education with industry and future employment pathways.

Preservice teachers develop knowledge of vocational learning frameworks, transferable skills and workplace competencies. They learn to design authentic, skills-based learning experiences that support student engagement, career awareness and readiness for further education, training and employment.

The teaching area emphasises inclusive, flexible and context-responsive pedagogies, enabling graduates to work with diverse learners and collaborate with industry and community partners to support meaningful transitions beyond school.
