The Health teaching area prepares future teachers to support students in developing the knowledge, skills and values needed to lead healthy, safe and active lives. It focuses on physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing, exploring topics such as nutrition, physical activity, relationships, mental health and personal safety. Pre‑service teachers learn to design engaging, evidence‑based learning experiences that build health literacy, promote positive behaviours and strengthen students’ ability to make informed decisions about their wellbeing. Through this teaching area, graduates are equipped to foster inclusive, supportive learning environments and to empower students to contribute positively to their own health and the wellbeing of their communities.
