Overview
This microcredential offers a unique opportunity to assess learning completed outside the credential itself—specifically, through asynchronous short courses provided by ACU’s Centre for Education and Innovation (CEI) via the CEI Catalog. These courses are quality assured by CEI and designed to support ACU’s alignment with Domain 3: Teaching of the TEQSA Higher Education Standards. This domain emphasizes the importance of staying current with disciplinary scholarship and developing skills in teaching, learning, and assessment tailored to diverse student cohorts.
The microcredential provides a formal mechanism to assess Professional Learning in Higher Education (PLiHE) short course learning for potential credit. To be eligible, participants must complete CEI short coursework equivalent to 60 hours of learning, as evidenced by digital badges. The microcredential includes an additional 15 hours of assessment work, bringing the total Volume of Learning (VoL) to 75 hours, equivalent to 5 credit points.
