The minor sequence in Christian practice explores the nature and meaning of prayer, liturgy, spirituality and community engagement in the Christian tradition. Studies in Christian practice serve to complement your broader studies in biblical studies and Christian thought by the development of a critical appreciation of how Christians live out their faith lives as an expression of their understanding of the Christian scriptures and Christian doctrine.

Completion requirements

A Minor consists of 40 cp in prescribed units in one discipline or approved interdisciplinary area, normally including at least 10 cp at 100-level and at least 20 cp at 200/300-level.

Complete 10 to 20 credit points from the following:

  • THCP105Prayer and Liturgy10 CP

    For students enrolled in the Bachelor of Theology or Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Philosophy, THCP105 will be credited toward your Christian Thought Major or Minor.

  • THCP106Introduction to Practical Theology10 CP

Complete 20 to 30 credit points from the following:

  • THCP223Theology and Ecology10 CP
  • THCP224Marriage and Family: Catholic Faith and Practice10 CP
  • THCP225Mission of the Church10 CP
  • THCP301Canon Law of the Church10 CP
  • THCP305Contemporary Approaches to Pastoral Practice20 CP
  • THCP306Theology, Immersion and Service-Learning10 CP
